Find your way around

Here are the parts of Ember you will use most. You can reach them from the menu. For what each term means, see core concepts.

Plan

Plan is your home screen. It shows what to practice today. Most days you start here and play down the list.

Library

Library holds your routines, exercises, lessons, and songs. Go here to pick something new to play, or to build your own routine. It has four parts:

  • Routines are sets of exercises you play in order.
  • Exercises are single drills, like long tones or scales.
  • Lessons teach a skill, with notes and music.
  • Songs are full pieces you play along with.

Calendar

Calendar shows what you have played and lets you plan ahead. Each day you practice gets a mark.

Goals

Goals is where you set targets, like minutes per day or a new high note. Ember shows how close you are.

Trends shows how you grow over time. You can see your practice minutes, your range, and your tone.

Tools

The Tools drawer floats over every screen. It holds four tools you can open any time, even in the middle of a routine:

  • Tuner checks if your pitch is in tune.
  • Tone Meter shows the color of your sound.
  • Metronome keeps a steady beat.
  • Drone plays a steady note to tune against.

Settings

Settings is where you change your account, your instruments, and the look of Ember. You can pick a theme and a menu style that feel right to you.
