Plans and billing

Ember has four plans. They differ by what they unlock, not by how the app feels to use. This page explains what each includes and how billing works. For current prices, see Settings, then Subscription.

The plans

  • Free. Start at no cost. For your first seven days you get a full trial with every feature unlocked. After the trial, the free plan keeps the core practice tools available: the Tuner, Metronome, Drone, and the live Tone Meter.
  • Plus. The full app for individual players: all of your routines, exercises, lessons, songs, goals, calendar, trends, and dashboards, plus multi-device sync, cloud backup, and expanded reference-player sets.
  • Studio. Everything in Plus, plus the teaching tools: multiple student profiles, groups, assignments, the studio dashboard, and messaging. This is the plan for private teachers. See the teacher guides.
  • Conservatory. A dedicated tenant for schools and universities, with single sign-on, custom branding, roster import, role and permission control, and data-retention controls. Sold by quote and billed annually. See the institution guides.

How the free trial works

When you create an account, your seven-day trial starts automatically. During the trial you can try everything, so you can decide what fits before you pay. When the trial ends, your account moves to the free plan unless you upgrade. Your data is never deleted when the trial ends; paid features simply lock until you subscribe.

Upgrade or change your plan

  1. Open Settings, then Subscription.
  2. Choose the plan you want.
  3. Confirm. The new features unlock right away.

You can move between plans at any time. Conservatory is arranged by quote rather than self-serve, so contact us to set it up.

Billing

Paid plans are billed through our payment processor. Ember does not store your full card number. You can choose monthly or annual billing where offered; annual usually costs less over a year.

Cancel

To cancel, open Settings, then Subscription, and choose Cancel. Canceling stops future charges. It does not delete your account or your practice data, which stay with you on the free plan. See your data and privacy.
