Organize students into groups
Groups let you organize your roster into classes, sections, or ensembles. Once students are in a group, you can assign practice to the whole group at once and review them together rather than one at a time.
Create a group
- Open your studio dashboard and choose Groups.
- Select New group.
- Name it after the class or ensemble, for example “Concert Band” or “Beginner Trumpets”.
- Add an optional description and save.
Add students to a group
You can add students to a group in two ways:
- From the group: open the group and choose Add members, then pick students from your roster.
- At invite time: when you invite a student, you can name a target group. When they accept, they land in that group automatically.
A student can belong to more than one group, so a player can be in both “Jazz Band” and “Trumpet Studio” at the same time.
Use groups
Groups appear wherever you assign or review. When you create an assignment, you can target a whole group, and Ember fans the assignment out to every member. Progress still rolls up per student, so you see how each player is doing inside the group.
Edit or remove a group
Open the group and choose Edit to rename it or change its description, or Remove members to take students out. Deleting a group does not remove the students from your roster or delete their work; it only removes the grouping.
