Your instruments
Ember can match your practice to the instrument you play. You set this up once in your profile. If you play more than one instrument, you can add them all.
Add your instrument
- Open Settings and find your player profile.
- Press Add instrument.
- Pick the kind, like trumpet or flugelhorn.
- Set the key, like B flat.
- Add a name and brand if you want, so you can tell them apart.
- Save.
Primary and other instruments
Your main instrument is your primary. You can add more, like a second horn. Pick which one you are playing now, and Ember uses its settings.
Mouthpieces
You can add the mouthpieces you use and attach them to an instrument. This matters for tone. The Tone Meter can remember a tone target for each instrument and mouthpiece, so your readings make sense when you switch.
- In your profile, press Add mouthpiece.
- Give it a name, like “Bach 3C”.
- Attach it to one or more instruments.
Switch instruments
When you pick up a different horn, set it as the active instrument in your profile. Ember then uses the right key, mouthpiece, and tone target for that horn.
